Where do you put your VCI in a club?
where do you guys put your vci (any other controller), when u do not have any space in the dj booth because of the clubs equipment?
i expect not to have much space at my next gig, and since other djs will play before me, i dont have much space to shift their setup.
any lessons-learned with this issue?

on top of a 1200 with some padding
where can i get that stuff? but i dont want that padding you put on walls in your studio..cause i think it will not have enough resistance..

Just ask them for one of the covers their 1200 came with and put it on that. Or alternatively you could buy a lid to keep in the car for the venues you play that need it.
The last few times I DJed in clubs with plenty of performance-tables (see picture). The clubs are slowly adapting to the trend that people bring their own gear. In the meantime bring 1200 covers (even if you don’t own the turntables themself) like the others mentioned.
Put a strap on your VCI similar to a camera and wear it around your neck. All of the best DJs in the world (Tiesto, Korn, Dead Mouse(R), etc.) are doing this lately.
