Since reading this article: The Frugal DJ – Laptops - DJ TechTools, I’ve been looking into purchasing a used Macbook (to run Traktor Pro) which this article indicates you can find from $400-$500 U.S. I have mainly been checking ebay but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a reliable site/place to continue my search. Thoughts?
p.s. I ran a couple of searches and didn’t come up with a thread directly on point-apologies if I simply missed it. Thanks, all.
One of the first posts I ever made on the forums covered this extensively:
Its the lengthier one, but if youre going to buy used, make sure you cover your ass, buying a cheap used MacBook can be dangerous territory. I also talk a little about how to score the best deals as they are posted on craigslist, so you can nab the best price.
^^ Seems a bit shady to use a discount you don’t actually qualify for, but if you’re a student then you do get $100 bucks off.
Just because they don’t require proof at time of purchase doesn’t mean that they won’t if it needs serviced. If you can’t supply it then they could possibly say that you came about the computer in by defrauding them and choose not to honor your apple care or standard warranty.
