Where to learn how to solder & other techie mods?

Hola peeps,
I was just wondering where someone like me could go to learn how to add/mod stuff. I always see cool posts of people modding their gear & adding extra LED’s/resistor/capasitors etc etc… I was just wondering where someone could go to learn that kind of stuff. I’m sure there’s college courses that teach that stuff, but I’d wanna know which one(s) would be good, or if there’s seminars or workshops that would teach that kinda stuff. I don’t need to get too in detail, but be at a place where I could perform the mods people post and some repair work (fixing loose knobs etc…) any ideas??

You could a learn to solder kit. Sparkfun has a couple, like a led christmas tree, and a mini simon game.

Radio Shack used to stock some of those little kits, but I don’t think they do any more. You could get a bunch of LED’s and then go to a thrift shop and buy something with LED’s in it practice replacing LED’s.

I taught my self. Break stuff and fix stuff. If you have broken electronics laying around you’ve already done half the work.
