nuo or default neutral eq, one advanced 92 filter for everything

classic eq,xone filter!Could someone describe the other types of eq how they work?I realise only the classic and the xone9which has midhi and mid low) .

the one i’m using, but can’t remember which i have it set to…

i know i have 4 way eq…

@BradCee that’ll be the Xone EQ then.

I set mine to P600 last week. I had no idea what the difference between Ladder and Xone was until just now though. I’m going to keep it on Ladder.

sounds right…

Yep, and your summer 2010 mix came up in rotation in the truck today and I’m pretty sure I heard some ladder filter in there.

i’m whoring that right now

:open_mouth:

voted according to what i’ve been told i use, sounds bad, lol. but set it up and forgot about it. what’s the difference between the filters?

The resonance on the ladder it much higher.

ah! think i remember why i went with that choice now

It took me a while to ‘get’ the Xone style EQ’s (4 way).

I could never use it the way i did the 3 way…where i just would cut the bass really.

After getting an A&H mixer…and fumbling a few mixes during gigs…I Googled it.

Helped a great deal!

It really helped me when it came to EQing. SOunds MUCH MUCH Better than the standard 3 way EQ.

What exactly did you Google? I’m thinking of switching to the Xone EQ’s.

I can;t remember but something in the lines of:

“How to use the Xone EQ’s?”

I found an article that explained it pretty simply in basic terms.

It basically said that the Bass knob is the sub which you do not need to cut all the way if you bringing in a track. Turn it down to about 10 o’clock. Its the Low Mid that you want to cut all the way to get rid of the bass.

Then when you want to make the track dominant, you boost both the Bass and the Low Mid till they in teh middle and turn the outgoing tracks Bass down to 10 o’clock and cut the Low Mid completely.

I tried this and worked the charm!

Haven’t tried REALLY getting in there with these EQ’s…but the above worked for basic beatmatched transitions.

thanks, that’s kinda how I thought they would work. Now I gotta decide if I really want to not have a gain on the controller.

Thats what modifiers are for.

P600 + Ladder

I played on the DJM-600 for so long, I’m just used to the way its EQ sounds. I don’t use it necessarily because it’s better or worse, it’s just what I’m used to hearing.

Ladder filter is a great effect… never really liked any Xone product and the filter just seemed really bland and boring sounding.
