Do you actually want to use it for timecode control or literally just as a decoration?
If you want timecode, do you already have an Audio 4 or 8? cos getting all the stuff to implement timecode control might be more expensive than it’s worth to stop your mates asking why you don’t use vinyl!
If it’s just for decoration…why not make a statement.
Personally I think buying a turntable for decoration is doing nothing more than validating everyone who is already bugging you about it, your just “posing” as a DJ. Fuck all that, if you dont use TT’s, then dont, get over it, and let the others follow. I mean, I guess if you really wanna look like a bad ass you could get a couple of TT’s and play a ScratchPickles mix from an iPod and just pretend your scratching to it?? Make sure you plug the turntables in or you’ll get busted fer sure.
This is too funny… I have a friend who just bought a macbook because he was getting similar comments for using a Dell. HAHAHAHA… I told him to cut out a white apple logo, glue it over the Dell logo, and put a black light on the table. I’m going to break out my Apple Newton just to satisfy the fanboys.
Rock the house and I don’t care if you’re using a C64 with cassette drive. I think for my next gig I’m going to use a single SCS.3D in double deck mode just to invite comments.
The clear solution is to get the most complex midi controller you can with as many flashing lights as possible. Try and make it look like a space ship. Dangle shit from the ceiling if you can.
Then every time you see a vinyl DJ bitch about how all he’s doing is beat matching tracks and doesn’t even make his own music.
as far as those reloop’s you asked about they are belt drive… if you are interested in getting a tt at least get a direct drive one.. check out any of the Super OEM turntables
