Who uses Amazon?

Is Amazon a safe site too use to buy mp3’s? they have a lot of the older stuff i want but cant be arsed ripping off my cd’s cos theyre probably poor quality anyway lol…

I never really had any problems BUT if you’re buying actual media, ie cd’s be aware that they often times subcontract out the sale to other sellers, so you could, in theory, have an issue. Although I haven’t yet. (knock on wood)

I buy from them all the time. But be warned they will send you emails with deals almost weekly and you’ll have a hard time not buying up albums with their 100 albums for $5 specials.

il just be buying the odd single mp3 (download) now n then thats all, what qualit will they download as?

320

cool, think il grab a few now cheers fella’s

Make sure it’s actually 320 though, I downloaded the Hospital mix by Danny Byrd, and it wasn’t 320. If you’re looking for cheap MP3’s, try Tescoentertainment or HMVDigital.

do they dol old stuff tho, like 10-15 years old?

I always finds it’s worth a quick search on a few sites in case I can get it cheaper elsewhere init.

You may find the quality of older stuff lacking regardless of where you buy it. I believe most online “shops” have just upconverted their older MP3’s from 192 to 320 as the demand has grown. If anyone comes across a site with older house and techno with high quality rips, I’d love to know about it.

dont think il find it cheaper than 0.79p tho lol… tesco only have like 2 minute versions cut off albums so thats no good

If you’re ever bored do a search for “free” in the MP3 Downloads section. Sometimes you come accross interesting stuff…

Thanks!

EDIT: Only in the US, typical.

I buy a lot of things from amazon, just not mp3s. That’s what DJ pools are for .

I assume they block the US stuff from you guys accross the pond and vice versa. These digital boarders are lame.

anyone recommend a dj pool here in the UK?

Amazon only sells 256k mp3s. I harass customer service every chance I get to start selling 320K mp3s.

Like I mentioned in another post, what I have done a couple of times is find the 320k version for download and then buy the 256k version from amazon.

+1

i really dont have a problem with 256k mp3s…

especially if i own it on vinyl already and can’t find it on beatport or traxsource…

I’ve got no problem with 256 it’s crappy 128 that’s been up’d to 320 and sold as 320 I have a problem with. Hell if the encoding’s decent I’m okay with 192.
