why hasn’t anyone posted this already??

saw a group called dirty phonics a few nights ago. don’t realy listen to dubstep/dnb but these guys blew me away. some crazy controllerism right there

i think my go-to-drumstep-mix on my ipod was by them.

i know the name and i have no idea who they are

god one thing I HATE are MCs…

4cdjs…for?..

For mixing 4 tracks. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not a fan of dubstep at all, I think it’s the happy hardcore of this era, and the cheesyness just oozes of my screen at the moment.

dirtyphonics are on point. love their work.

the majority of it - yup

There were (are? maybe?) a few good tracks - high production values, intelligent structure.

However finding this in the 99% of utter generic derivative dross can be hard.

The trick is avoiding anything with a wobble or an electro-y build up

rhymes with “sucks a million” ?

If you watched the video carefully they had 2 guys on pads, guessing 1 for leads and the other for beats, then you have 2 guys on cdjs… the fuuuuu??
Unless they decided that they would make a cd with only parts of the tracks and then the other 2 work on the beats and leads.. I call it bullshit/waste of space.

I recently used a Dirtyphonics remix on my dubstep battle mix over on the mixes forum.

Just because they are not using it then doesn’t mean they don’t use it at all.

actually they’ve been posted several times some time ago. worth reposting though. they have put out some great releases, too. bonus level is one of my favourite dnb tracks!

I’d like to see their work flow.

saw them live two summers ago. they’re pretty good.

Dont you hate it when pain in the arse producers are intent on playing so much music, the whole thing would have been better with way more MC. I just love hearing people humble loads of rubbish down a mic and encourage me to “jump” every two seconds.

Every DJ, musician and music fan hates MCs.

i’m not really a fan of the dubstep/dnb they play but i was still impressed by how much skill and technique they had if they were playing the songs live. at ruby skye last weekend they played some electro house stuff in the middle of the set and i was dancing my ass off. also, there was no mc that night, just straight electro sounds
