What were you searching for, which you couldn’t find?

Because people don’t use tags when they open a thread. ie: this one.
Maybe we should make tags a *required field, when starting a new thread.
I also hate using the search function because it is, IMO, hardly ever useful. I just go through pages and pages of threads before asking my questions.
use google? just type DJ TechTools Forums “search term” into the google box and you´ll only get results from the forum
use google to search djtt. here is how. type your search into google. add a colon, and the web address. here is an example of how to use google to search for “search function”
search function :http://www.djtechtools.com
(ignore the fact its a link)
There were no matches for those that you specified.
Yeah, I use google to search too, but the syntax I use is SEARCH TERM site:djtechtools.com/forum
Tags is NOT a way to improve the search.
I’d still like to know what the OP was searching for. Maybe there is an issue with the search index.

Ive always used the google to search the forums too.. maybe we should look at using google to power the search on the forums instead ?
I’ve always found the search on vbulletin fine - you just have to know exactly what to search for!
The advanced search works really well imo, really helps filter out the less relevant threads
20 years back searching meant going down to the library and busting out the microfiche
This^^
It works for those who know what their looking for but can be a pain in the ass for a newbie or someone who is not quite sure what he’s searching for.
Advanced search works pretty well, but I use Google all the time
site:djtechtools.com/forum “search term”
Not sure if you guys have internal forums, but if you do, Google couldn’t help search there.![]()
