why…why it gotta be like dat? sad musings over auto gain savings

why cant i get my autogain and limiter settings to stay off? i can seem to get traktor to save every other preference but those 2? WTFMAO

and also , am i the only one that has to run start up wizard every time i restart my computer?

They’re both symptoms of the same problem by the sound of it. Try renaming your Traktor settings.tsi file.

yeah, set it all up and hit the big export button on settings screen, should lock it in

yah i have a huge custom mapping .tsi for both of my controllers and all audio and file path and settings…idk i consider myself fairly good at using the UI. but i also freely admit i could be doin it wrong.

like i said i can getit to save every other preference, altho for a long time it would also not save my internal/external mixing pref… just recently i started noticing i didnt have to change it every time.

If it keeps running the setup wizard then it can’t access one bit or other of the settings for some reason.

you do just mean the mapping .tsi right? you are not referring to some other “setttings” .tsi that needs exporting to in addition to the map?

basically when i set up, i have to run start up wizard once, then import my mapping twice, then go in and manually set limiter and autogain settings…then i am good to go.

this is ONLY when i do a fresh restart or boot up of my laptop. if i exit traktor and re-open it without rebooting, im fine.

Woah, fuck knows then.

I think you may have to contact NI support unless anyone else can explain that. May God have mercy on your soul.

:disappointed:

wouldnt hold my breath is what youre saying…

If You’re running windows check .tsi-files ownership. Looks like some settings-file can’t be overwritten when You save it.

Why not export Your settings and mappings and reinstall Traktor?

No your full settings .tsi
Next to the big Import button is a big Export button.
Get everything right - controller config, autogain etc… then export that using the big export button, restart and import (big button)
Then check everything - if it’s not right then it’s not writing to your .tsi file for some reason - or not importing for some reason.

I think… (drunk atm)

that

also, odd question, when you start traktor are just double clicking the icon on desktop/start menu, or are you using some kind of script that kills background tasks and boots traktor? if the second one then are you running as admin?

Nope i just launch from the desktop icon.

so that rules out some kind of weird user based thing on start-up.
