Why would my S4 come up as a “Maschine”
I was fooling around with my S4 last night (mixing, trying some FX etc.) in an attempt to find out why one of my RP5’s had stopped working. Had NO issues and shut down as per usual. I have just rebooted from full shut-down, without ANY changes to my regular set-up. My S4 remained unactive (master light/USB was on) but there were NO active functions. Control Panel showed Interface Connected. Controller Editor on the other hand showed Maschine. I don’t have, and have never used Maschine. A reboot produced the same result. Uninstalled S4 and reinstalled and everything is 100% - NO ISSUES. Any ideas how this may have happened?
(On PC, not Mac)
Maybe NI is coming out with a Maschine S4 hybrid model and you discovered a bug in the firmware revealing the secret.
I’m not upgrading until I get the pizza they previously promised.
OK clever guys - here’s the deal - just happened AGAIN. Any theories other than hybrids and pizzas?
(Doing a complete uninstall/reinstall)
(KRK6’s are wicked!)
I would probably try new or old drivers first depending on what you’re using now.
Re-installed drivers for KS4 (latest vers) and Controller Editor (latest vers). Maschine is GONE in CE. Set-up is working like a dream. Just found that going into CE whilst mixing causes S4 to become ‘inactive’ (lights on, sample decks say ‘ON’ but functions don’t work) - that right?
