Danza Kuduro (Original Mix)-Don Omar & Lucenzo

I think it blended! My only critique (take what you will from it since I’m definitely still a noob) would be that you seemed to hold on to that last track a bit too long in comparison to the rest of the mix. IMHO, playing your last track for around twice as long as the previous tracks caused the mix to lose energy a bit too soon. Still thoroughly enjoyable though. Great work!

Thanks a lot for your feedback man! And I definitely get what you’re talking about on the last track. I’ve been having difficulty on how to finish a mix/end it in a creative manner…
Sometimes I filter it out or just the song play out entirely which tends to get pretty boring after a while…

I listened to your mix while watching my girlfriend play Baldur’s Gate Tutu. Here’s my feedback.

  • moar tracklists = moar listens and feedback, from me anyway!

  • 10 minutes is pretty short, and as above dude says, last track plays for too long. If you’re dedicated to using that as the last track, mix into the last verse if possible, so it only has a minute or whatever to run?

  • I guess that’s Kuduro, that last track? It sounds like Tecnobrega, heh.

  • In general your levels were pretty solid, and even though I’m not WILD about this style of music, I think your track selection and progression were good up until the last track. I didn’t notice any mixing mistakes.

  • Mostly I wanted more than about 7 minutes of mix.. I started to get my groove on and it was over.

Thanks for posting, and keep at it!

-Thanks I’ll definitely start putting my tracklist into these posts! I usually just put them into the timed comments on soundcloud

-Ahh Good Idea, Mixing into a different verse would have been smart! And yeah that track was for a group of friends and I (studied in Spain for 2 weeks this summer, and heard that song at a discoteca, and we all fell in love with it).

-Tecnobrega? Please explain, not familiar with that.

-Thanks a lot man! It’s hard to appreciate other DJ’s mixes when they’re not in your style of mixing : )

  • And yeah I’ve never made a mix this short before! I usually average mixes around 15-17 min. haha.

-Thanks for the feedback mate! Shoot me some of your mixes!

Put briefly, it is a style of electronic music from Brazil which is literally styled as “cheesy techno” but is played in large public parties based on gigantic soundsystems, sorta in the tradition of Jamaican sound systems. The CDs are basically instantly pirated so the musicians have to figure out interesting ways to make money, etc..

My current mixes are at the soundcloud link in my signature.
