Windows 8 Question

Hello.

I read here

about a few minor problems with Win 8.

My question is now that Win 8 is more common does anyone have some feedback?

I’m looking to buy a new Lenovo thinkpad EDGE SERIES E530 laptop and it comes with Windows 8 Pro 64.

I’m using Traktor S4 and Traktor software.

If Win8 is really shit for some reason I suppose I could make a dual-boot with Win7.

And does it work via usb3?

Windows 8 works fine with Traktor and my Audio 2 DJ through USB 3.0 on my Air.

Problem is the issue isnt with USB3 itsself.. but in most cases, Intels Host Controller (Most use it some dont) with native instruments. IE: I have no issues with my RME Fireface UFX on usb 2.0 through a usb 3.0 on any of my machines. The Audio 10 through a usb 3 port is a big no no though for me, even on my windows 8 machine.. so I think its really hit or miss for everyone and very dependent on the host controller for usb in it.

Regardless, all the new machines have the ability to set USB Legacy Mode in the BIOS and that has solved all of my issues with the Audio 10 and usb 3 ports

FYI: None of my machines are Apples, for relevance note.

The Intel Host Controller is present in Device Manager for me, but it doesn’t seem to be causing any problems?

My Audio 4 DJ also works perfectly and no settings have been changed nor has any other optimisation been done.
