Just a quick idea. I think that it would be really cool to have a wireless PS2 controller (i have 4 downstairs in my PS2) and was wondering if i could somehow use that to control traktor at a basic level (so i wouldnt have to be behind the decks at a house party or similar + it would be really awesome)? I have seen people using HID to MIDI programs, and i assume that would still work with a wireless controller and adapter.
If all that could work - How do these HID to MIDI programs work. Would it need to be running in the background?
It’s simple to do, if you already have a way to get your PS2 controllers to your PC, depending on how they connect to your PS2, I assume it’s a dongle that plugs in your PS2 pad port? That will be a long winded way. Buy a PS3 pad and bluetooth dongle, then you can use Joy2Key and bome’s MIDI translator.
EDIT: In fact, you might be able to skip Joy2Key, I think Bome’s can pick up joypad presses.
Couldn’t i just plug my PS2 remote into something like this - couldnt i run the same program and convert the key presses to midi? or does it not work that way
