Would this work?

Would this work?

Im guessing the finger wont work in Traktor as its not a DAW so would i be able to route the output from my mixer (traktor) into input C and have Ableton pick up the sound from C. And run the finger through that.
Also, doe the finger edit overall audio or can you put it between columns.

If I understand correctly, this should not be a problem.

I use to do this for recording/caputring our live stream for Restricted Sessions.

technically, as far as routing goes, what you are saying should be possible, and not too dificult.

since the finger is a plugin, yes you could have it manipulating the 1 columb or channel in ableton. but all the audio on that channel will be affected, unless you routed the finger to an aux. then you should be able to send it to any channel at any time, just by twisting the aux sends on that channel. also there should be a dry/wet feature that will let you toggle the depth of manipulation within the finger.

Would there be any way to do an internal midi clock so i can play loops/samples in Ableton?

yeah, youd just have to create a new midi device in traktors device manager, call it midi clock, and send it to traktors virtual output in the ins/outs if i remember correctly, then just set ableton to read midi clock in the audio/midi settings i think, and just set it to traktor virtual output. Start traktors midi clock… BAM!

oh and make sure traktor is set to send midi clock aswel…

and technically, in theory, when you use the finger, it should be synced to the midi clock aswell. Make sure to check your latency or MIDI offset for both traktor and ableton, make sure there the same or there will be a delay.

Thankyou very much  faderfox DX2 and 2 x x1’s after xmas to control traktor, and maschine (VST+controller) and the finger VST and my APC40,
Some sick tunes on the way

ahhh maschine… i just went on a rant in another post about how awesomly good it is…

let me know if the sync thing was a success, or if ur having any problems with it… ive done it before on the one computer so i know it works

Wont be till tomorrow, im kinda ill atm :disappointed:

One last Q, how do i get maschine up as a VST, because i cant load it >.< Do i need the full version of Ableton?

yeah, i think you do need the full version to load VST’s in ableton… not quite sure about that though… can you load the finger in ableton? if you can then there should be a way to do it with maschine, but if you cant get it to work… you can still sync maschine seperately to the same midi clock as traktor and ableton in standalone mode with basically the same method as i told you about syncing traktor and ableton. you just go into maschine software and in the “file” menu there should be sync to external midi… Now if ur traktor midi clock is set up it should be synced to that aswel. there may be 1 or 2 other things you might have to set but let me know if your having problems with it…

make sure you check the midi offset and latency in the maschine software aswel

then if you wanted to route maschine into ableton, you would just have to use the same method you used to route traktor into ableton, only with maschine, and depending on what you wanted to do, on a different channel strip. that way you would still have control of maschines output through ableton, and you would be able to route the output of maschine to all of ableton’s effects, and also run it through the finger… although, like i said, if you can get the finger to work in ableton, there should be a way to get maschine to work in ableton aswell… i dont currently have ableton on my computer so i cant verify this. when i get my new macbook ill install it and give it a whirl.
