How is this bitch famous? I’m waiting for the internets to tell me what genre that trash is.. Whatever that dreadful black eyed peas shit is, it’s the same.. Anyway, to make this post worth while:
Pretty nice article from john roman about djing, popular music and other similarly pressing subjects, and his 110 must listen to tracks of the year. http://www.blog.johnromandj.com/
Anyway, needed to vent a bit. Even though my rage at popular music is unquenchable.
Hope you’re all enjoying playing with your new toys as much as I am!
lol… good old will.i.am, i can’t stand his music but i respect him for making the industry work for him.
bubblegum pop sells, where as alternative hiphop just isn’t exactly the cash cow it used to be in the hay days of the golden era.
can’t blame him for trading in his backpack for a porsche.
great dubstep track! This kind of pop music has a place, somewhere in a garbage bin.
This probally will air on VIVA in germany and the kids will love it… then again germans have extremely bad taste as far the music running on mtv or viva.
Its like autosync or pop music… some people will like it.. some will hate… thats the point of djing, to cater to the different tastes of different people.
To be fair, his songs for the MADAGASCAR 2 soundtrack were surprisingly good.
When? Viva only shows Spongebob and iCarly these days and in a few days, MTV becomes Pay TV. (Because, y’know, people really wanna pay money to watch at least Game One. Oh wait, you can watch it for free on their website. Never mind. )
But yeah, this modern popmusic is something I seriously can’t get behind. If we are lucky, some tracks got some nice or even completely awesome remixes (Armand’s Uffie & Pharrell remix anyone?), but the artists and videos all look and their songs all sound the same.
All we can do now is sit it out and hope that this fad dies quickly, like all the other fads in popmusic before.
Will.i.am is the shizz though… I like her music, in the sense that it’s better than half the pop crap out there… She’s unique, is weird, and doesn’t give a crap… I sort of respect that.
