The title pretty much explains it all.
Just got my VCI 100 today and there was no usb cable or poweradaptor in the box!
I guess everybody else got 1x of each with theirs right?
what to do..
Go get a USB cable myself, annoying but a quick solution.
Is the powersupply essential for operation or is the USB power enough?
The second option would be to talk to the guys i germany/belgium? (Thomann)
and make them either send an AC adapter and a Usb cable, or send a new one. Either way that is gonna take a long feckin time
thx for the replies guys, got lucky and found an old usb-b type cable in my misc box
i’ve got it powered up now
Just need to set it up with traktor pro and i’ll be gtg.
If you have a computer that cannot supply enough power over USB to keep the device running allways active you should use a power supply. I got a cable and a power adapter with mine, the usb cable it came with isnt terribly great quality though, so i would suggest upgrading the USB cable it comes with anyway
mine came with a firewire cable!
I got a scratch-n-dent from guitarcenter.com and they didn’t bother checking the re-packaging from the previous customer!
I had plenty of extra USB cables, but Firewire cables are nice to come by on accident!
I hate bad quality USB cables. I got a 500gb hard drive and spent a day trying to get it going with drivers and various mounting hacks only to take it back to the shop where they changed the USB cable and then it worked. duh.
I wanted to get a power supply as a backup but none of the literature that comes with the VCI mentions the model number. It provides the voltage specs, however. Will I be okay just picking up a generic one from radio shack? Matching those differently sized plugs is such a pita.
@Jo3
Which VCI do you have ? A UK version (AC adapter) or a US version (9volt DC Adapter).
The US version requires a AC to DC convertor Adapter.
Also wondering , someone says that the Adapter is needed to have the VCI Light up. No lights with USB …is that true.
My VCI is USB powered and all the lights are functioning, also never had it cut out on me. The lights do blink a little when one of them is pressed, as if the power is being drained a little, which might be solved by external power supply.
