I had the 1700 a couple weeks and I’m sure the filters are the same on the 1600. They sounded pretty good and you had some control over the way they sound but it was limited. The cool thing was, at least with the 1700, you could apply them on top of any of the other effects with an oddly named “parameter” knob. They don’t hold a candle to the ones on the Xones. But to be honest my favorite sounding digital filter is on the Ecler Evo 5. But unfortunately the firmware on that mixer is designed poorly so it’s not that useful for actually mixing with.
The filter implementation on the 1600 is essentially my single gripe, if they put a hi/lo filter on each channel like on the S4 and VCI-400 the mixer would be perfect. What I’d like to do is map the 4 midi encoders to Traktors filters…
