XDJ RX 4 channel?
Hi Guys,
Was strongly considering getting one of these but I really need my set up to be a 4 channel one… anyone heard anything about a 4 channel version of the rx coming out soon?
Thanks in advance
XDJ RX 4 channel?

Personally I doubt it, but you never know - try email Pioneer support?
They’re tight lipped as usual - Seriously wish someone with some insider knowledge would just tell me if that’s the case… I don’t need anymore details all i need to know is should I buy the rdx now or should I wait!?
I’m guessing not because they wouldn’t later control surfaces like done with controllers as the internal processing of the unit I doubt has the power to support it and doubt they’d invest in power to support it… Hell from the forums I’m read I’m regretting placing one on order… Apparently even though there is waveform display when you pitch up and down it does not change the speed of the waveform they just continue to play at original speed… Why this isn’t a big issue it does show the lack of processing power within the internal unit… It also is very finicky if you have a less then stellar MP3 file and more so then their other players… Also the file may play fine in recordbox program but may still not play on the unit
There’s SO much choice on the market right now… unfortunately… none of it seems to work for me!
I have an S4 that is old and beat up after 4 years of heavy use.
I want a 4 channel controller that will integrate properly with traktor but still has jogs!
I felt the xdj rx (even if it’s 2 channel) was exactly what I wanted to have at home that I could use before hitting the club but apparently now with all this negative feedback I’m back at square one.
Anyone know if I’ll regret buying a DDJ-SZ and using it with traktor?
No Traktor Post Fader-FX. End of Discussion.
I’ve never used them… I mix tech/minimal mostly so not a lot of hard cuts going on here..
A 4 channel RX is not on the cards as far as I’m aware, although yes there has been a-lot of interest in one from the U.S. and Australia, not so much from Europe … strange …
Your best bet would be a pair of XDJ1000’s and DJM750/850, so that when you “hit the club” you will probably be using very similar gear.
Do something like this. A good DJ should be able to play on anything, but you should still practice on what you plan on playing on. If you are planning on using Traktor in the club, you might be able to get buy with some second hand CDJs. You don’t need all the features if you are just using the CDJs to control the software.
If you don’t mind me saying you’ve made some assumptions there. I’ve had one for six months now, the unit is awesome. Anything I have in iTunes or Rekordbox plays fine inc. normal USB sticks, and for me personally I bought it to get away from screens and waveforms. As soon as I load a track, I hit the browse button to turn of the Waveform as I wanted to get back to listening to the music to mix, not look at a visual representation of the music, for me that’s just adding an unnecceasry layer of distance/being removed from the music. I know not everyone feels like that but I think this machine is more of a transition point to get people back on Pioneer modular. Just my two cents and sorry to necropost! ![]()
Er… end of YOUR discussion. People have different needs, and I really don’t see why anybody would bother getting this if they want to use Traktor. It CAN control Traktor, but really what’s the point? This is for people who want to eventually move on to CDJ900/2000s.

Get XDJ-RX or wait for 4 channel version
Guys
I am really into XDJ-RX now and thinking of going for one. The only thing stopping me is the fear that Pioneer may be announcing 4 channel version (+couple of other improvements) of this unit soon (maybe at Musikmesse?). Do we have any leaks about a unit like that please or still nothing?
dillinger23. Is it really that good as you describe?
I need to decide if I want go modular or XDJ-RX. In both cases I am buying turntables (I think AT-LP120USBs as a lot of people praise them and they are not expensive and I cannot be bothered with looking for a used 1200mk2). I am also thinking of SL2/3 sound card to go with XDJ-RX as so I would be able to use DVS (I think I found info somewhere that xdjrx will never support DVS - even if it’s gonna be Rekordbox’s DVS) which is something that I want. I would also get SeratoDJ with SL2/3 but don’t quite get how it would work with xdjrx being plugged via RCAs? I can understand DVS in that setting: 2 turntables send signal via timecode to the laptop and music is mixed by standalone mixer in xdjrx - everything controlled by SL2/3. But SeratoDJ with SL2/3 and plugged to xdjrx? How would that work? I don’t quite get that (sorry for being stupid
).
This (xdjrx + 2 TTs + SL2/3) would give me a really flexible setup: ability to learn rekordbox ecosystem (which would mean easy transfer to cdi/djm setup in the clubs-most important feature for me), ability to listen to analog vinyl (albeit digitized by xdjrx’s standalone mixer), DVS and SeratoDJ (although don’t understand how SEratoDJ would work with SL2/3). So fully analog, fully digital (rekordbox+SeratoDJ) + half way solution i.e. DVS = great flexibility and ability to get used to Pionee’rs club standard way of playing - two most important things for me.
With modular…I don’t even know which mixer I would start off with. I would like to get an analog mixer to get the best out of analog vinyls which means going for AllenHeath only. But which AH? DB2/4 are expensive, have stability issues and don’t work well with Macs (I already have rMBP). 92/62 guess are too old. 43/43C seem to be flawed mixers and not worth paying attention to. So what else is out there? Rane? Not a fan of their products somehow (+they are all digital these days). Pioneer? Love how Pioneer’s djm’s look and feel but…too expensive for home use ($2000 for a djm900nxs/2). And what we are left with? Not much choice do we? Maybe Reloops rmx80? (really cheap in my country at $500, Pioneer’s djm clone and people say it even sounds the same in terms of sound quality). Or maybe Denon’s DN-x1600? (I really like how it looks, it’s not that expensive, Pioneer clone again, with advanced features but quite old now and not certified to work with SeratoDJ). But if not then what? Not much choice is there ? ![]()
If I chose the mixer then I am pretty sure I would also get ONE (1) AT-LP120 (to be able to play analog vinyls + DVS), one XDJ-1000 (to familiarize myself with Rekordbox workflow) and some external controller (xone:k1/2?).
Similar outcome then xdi-rx+SL2/3 but done in a different way and with different pros/cons.
What do you guys think?
It has been nearly a year since ZxZDeViLZxZ has flagged the issues with xdj-rx. Have they been fixed thru firmware updates until today?
When 2 turntables are hooked up to xdjrx and analog vinyl records are played and standalone mixer functionality is used on xdjrx, can one turn the xdjrs’s screen off completely? (as the screen is not needed in this scenario + creates unneccassary glare, usually in darker bedroom setting)
Please guys help. It will be greatly appreciated.
mega thanks
If they are using CDJ’s with rekordbox in the club, why not get the DDJ RZ?
Honestly bruv, it is better to invest in a set of CDJ’s and mixer. YOu can rent out the equipment, then it will pay for itself.
DDJ-RZ, although designed for Rekordbox (as says on the box), is quite frankly removed from rekordbox run on CDJs in that it…doesn’t have its own screens (like CDJs and xdjrx have). So you have to:
a) use laptop (always)
b) you will not get a flavour of ‘CDJ rekordbox’ ecosystem (which is based on being independent from laptop and having it’s own screens)
What if you show up to the club and the rig is indeed CDJ/DJM but it’s not ‘rekordbox enabled’? (or even ‘only take CDs’)
