You know Mr. Rollins?
Have a look at this:
Know the Techno Viking?Legend…
Found this hilarious
:
techno viking ftw!
and henry rollins is a god! i mean black flag…damn they where so god!
Some people are angry at their own shadow. Meh. To each his own.
haha one time henry rollins came into my work shopping for baguettes… it was like seeing a bull in a china shop or something…
you’d think a guy like henry rollins only eats Snails and ferocious animals with large teeth… as oppose to fresh baked french pastries. lol
I watched this again… I noticed his description sounds a lot like punk music. People doing lots of drugs, listening to crappy music and dancing (moshing). I like a lot of punk but he makes me sad inside. lol
Maybe his ghost writer´s recherche wasn´t proper.
haha nice. rollins is the kind of guy i’d want as a bodyguard. he wouldn’t take nothin. techno viking wouldn’t be so bad either..seems like a pretty good bouncer from the video.
lol k i actually watched the video…
is it just me or is there something really ironic about an aging punk rocker calling out new forms of music for being unimaginitive and lacking musicianship when the entire punk genre died after the 1980s because it became oversaturated with shitty garage bands who’ve been banging out the same 3 chords for over 20 years, singing about the same cliche shit, catering to audiences composed of white suburban emo teenagers and middleaged burnouts?
also I love the new career shift to stand up comedian, I guess when your living in the past and resting on the laurels of past achievements it’s good to have a sense of humour.
or he’s punk to his core..
FCK EVERYTHING!
there’s a word for people who subscribe to the punk mentality past their teenage years.
it’s called “losers”
lmao!!!
Good ol’ Henry-boy. Hey…Dennis Leary called…he wants his act back.
Oh where to start. The tightly wrapped mic cord makes him an “extreme” um…whats the word…oh yea… an other blowhard douchebag with a mic.
And yea, for the record…SHOUTING…just as good as being RIGHT
I guess in his defense one could say he simply said “shitty” rave music…so technically he could of meant just the shitty ‘rave music’…though probably not.
A very knee-jerk, “us & them”, stereotypical, hypocritical whiney rant that falls faaaaaar short of “the PUNK” ideals he identified with in the past.
I guess we all get old and turn into our parents.
“a generation gap means the war is never won”
it was funny when he said “but maybe im just a 40 year old guy whos lost the plot” … it was like he had a subconcious moment of clarity but decided to vale it in sarcasm to save face. unfortunately for him it was the only thing he had right the entire video.
I’m a 39 year-old curmudgeon who grew up with punk and moved on to other things. though I do understand the fucking on the floor and breaking shit bit…cept now it’s my hip. ![]()
It’s nice to be reminded every now and then that laughing at yourself is has a certain therapeutic quality to it.
I had a seance last night and Bill Hicks came through with a message for Dennis Leary but it’s too rude to repeat.

Rollin’s was always the uncool, metal side of punk anyway; he just comes across as ignorant and embarrassing in that routine. I know so many old punks involved in dance music I couldn’t even name them all - the entire London acid techno scene are all old punks for example.
The majority of the scene I run in was started by punks. Hell, does he know that the majority of his movement drifted into the EDM scene before there was an EDM scene? Oh well. It’s just another example of a guy who needs to be remembered cause, well, while Black Flag was really good, he’s kind of slipping.
He’s a smart guy, but at the same time, what he’s saying is for humor’s sake. Sometimes it should just be taken that way.
I believe Bill Hicks made some astonishing predictions about Dane Cook and his brand of stadium “comedy”.
lol they even put some autotune on the video I think.
you guys gotta cut him a little slack its stand up comedy.
Same here, Advct.A friend of mine, Upstart, started with a punk fanzine, bought records in England and sold ´em in Munich. Then he founded the Optimal record store, then came techno.Rest is history.Ultraschall, Rote Sonne.
But I like the last part about the boring bands sounding the same. Can´t listen to commercial radio stations anymore.Vomit.
lol no doubt. they even made a movie about it.
“24 hour party people”
lol!!! Nice Thanks for schooling me there. I didnt know who Bill was but always wondered where that samlple came from:
“You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.”
