I posted this the other day but didnt see how well it did cos it got deleted
for a forum full of djs im not hearin a lot about any gigs goin down, lets hear about your experiences and antics, whether it be you or your minions. itd be kool to keep track of whos doing what. maybe a few photos of wasted punters and such. keep us posted
best event for me this year:
Afterhours at the Cornerstone Music Festival⦠4 nights of crazy timesā¦
first night: Deeflash, Matthew Hyatt (Giantslayers), Brother Brooks and Topher Jones (who rocked the decks hard)
second night: myself and Alex Bedwell. we both rocked them pretty hard.
third night: Dave Richards and Stryke (who makes me want to spin techno, amazing set)
fourth night: the one and only kevin oneel who rocked a crowd of 750 minimum and could be heard 1/2 mile away.
we averaged 500 per night (750-800 walk through) over the 4 days. it was pretty incredible. had had booked shiloh, but sadly justin had to have emergancy surgery the weekend before the festival.
props to Harmony Network for the PA (24 feet of hand built subwoofer makes me happy) and the planning crew from tastyfresh.com.
and next year it will be better, trust me we are already planning it. hopefully i will be able to play again there.
Hi board, My name is nemo and I am hung over today. I promise never to get drunk again!
Just kidding hehehe.
Anyways, I thought it would be nice to have a section on this board where we could post our gigs and information around them. That way, the General section would be clean of āpromotion spamā. What ya guys think? Good idea?
fakeblood!! nice im new here but iāll promise to post more sooner or later. i mainly spin underground sounds from the uk, but also party stuff at bars clubs and private parties. lived in australia for about 20 months and going back to germany for nowā¦
Most pages where you discuss music making, djing etc etc have an entire subforum (like mixes) for where people can post their gigs. Its a very handy thing to keep track of what people are up to. A thread like this just gives confusion, and there is no overview at all imo.
Hey Tekki, could you say something to Ean?
Why donāt you prepare a DJTECHTOOLS FESTIVAL?
or only a special day or week-end with controllerists master-classes and live shows?
Maybe you can sell it to other bigger festivals or meetings, like next SONAR in Barcelona, for example, now you have two big sponxors in Vestax and Native Instruments, i donāt think itās a bad idea por festival programmers, isnāt it?
I am currently weighing up the different options that are availible for people advertising their gigs and get togethers - i dont want to open up a forum specifically for people to advertise their gigs as i dont think they will get as exposed as much as much as they would at the moment(that said i havent completely ruled out making a new section). I would also like this to be more than just forum posts - implementing a callender that has DJTT users gigs\meetup dates i think would be a better step.
From the callender users get forwarded to threads for the different events, it would also include dates that we schedule articles to be posted on. This callender could also be embeded onto djtt members webpages at their own discression while also having the ability to be embeded on users igoogle page.
Nothing is certain yet - but this is definantly something that thought is being put into.
