Zomo Case for Xone 4D “Review/Warning”

Simple review/warning:
The case is very poorly built and the Xone 4D doesn’t fit.

Slightly longer review/warning:
On the front side: the right knob for the microphone level is inside the padding, the microphone XLR input cant be connected as the “cutout” in the case isn’t deep enough and its the same with the headphone contacts.
(The answer I got from Mr Hans Söllner at RecordCase.de was: “I know that the space for the front door is very tight, but we want to keep the case as small as possible and usually you should remove the mixer from the case for playing.”)
I cant believe that he said that they made the front door tight and that you’re supposed to take the mixer out of the case before playing. If you were supposed to take it out of the case, why make the door in the first place?
On the back: the padding on the bottom is to thick so it partly cover the connections so that you have to lift the controller to connect the cables and then when you put it back down again all the weight is on the connectors.

Besides this, the support is terrible and it takes 1-2 weeks for every reply when I send them e-mails.

What you are doing is not legal. You should know that I will give it tomorrow to our lawyers if you do not stop it.

keep at it - and while your at it post reviews on as many other gear sites as you can, that kind of customer service and reaction is weak as hell.

Assuming you are from Germany you could use idealo.de or any other kind of “warentest”. site. Also rap.de/forums or djforum.de are possibilitites :slight_smile:

btw, i never had any problems ordering there, tbh i was about to order a new tt200 now. well, i´m rethinking that now :wink:

Disclaimer: I agree that the cutouts should fit better, since having the cutout at all implies that you should be able to use the mixer in the case conveniently. And I think it’s great that you’re warning everyone else about the wonky cutout etc.

Now, that said, a good friend of mind runs a sound/dj equipment rental business. He insists that his mixers, cdjs, etc be taken out of the cases anytime they are used for air circulation. He’s had renters use them otherwise and the heat issue has cause various problems with the equipment, temporary and permanent.
