i think people feed of each other, the less people at a gig the more they will feeding off you-the dj. if you had a gig of 1000 people, its gonna be surging anyway. if you have 100 people, theyll sorta keep each other going but you are responsible for the general attitude of the collective, if you got 5 people, well then, you basically need a whole lotta drugs. but simply, the less people at the gig the more you must read. this is just my opinion though and i play dnb. pretty much play a couple of driving warmup tracks then just dark, dark, heavy, evil madness for the rest of my set with no space to breathe. and i try to dance harder than anyone else there, so noone can feel silly dancing like a casserole thrown against a wall...

as for musical journey, this for me is key and my favourite part of djing. i just like my journeys dark and heavy...
