    Default enhancing my launchpad S

    Sup boys

The launchpad is a nice tool and pretty pleasant to work with.

But lets face the fact that THIS CONTROLLER IS SLOW AS HELL FFS. I recently mapped a lot of cools things on mine but I'm facing a major problem; there's a soundcrack when I switch to another bank due to excessive LED feedback.
I posted a thread in the mapping section, I though about changing it to another controller but today I woke up with a pretty nice idea; why would't I modify it myself?

That's it, I'm gonna try to make it more powerful, and probly add some more features too

I've seen 1-2 DIY tutorials, but I don't really know anything about the chips etc, plus I'd like to know if someone did this kind of modifications on this specific machine

    Any advice?

    The launchpad is slow?
    What do you mean?

Sound has nothing to do with the launchpad.

+1 you need to upgrade your computer, not the controller

This is explaining my problem with soundcut http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthr...826#post730826

I'm talking about how too much LED feedback affects Traktor and the decks playing.

Btw I changed my laptop 4 months ago, paid it 800+ euros (1200+ usd) trust me its pretty powerful enough.

It's just that the chip on the launchpad is IMO slow. WHich is pretty understandable considering the price of a launchpad S.

I opened the launchpad and it's like this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rScBRKlTdo...0M/s1600/6.jpg

My guess is, its gonna be pretty hard to modify it, I'd better make one of my own using the same keys & LEDs

    What do you think?

OK wait a minute i'm trying to wrap my head around this, first off all I assume by LED feedback you mean the MIDI messages being sent by Traktor to the launchpad? Because the amount of messages is not going to decrease if you change the internals of the launchpad. And what do you mean by "slow" is there a lot of latency when using the controller? Because if so it might even be defective (if it's so bad it renders it unusable)

By LED feedback I mean the numbers of "output" in my Traktor "controller manager". I have 80+ outs for my bank 1, and 110+ on bank 2...

By slow I mean slow to update LED update when changing bank 1 to bank 2, its instant but the crack sound is happening so I guess its slow coz it cannot update it without the soundcrak. My other controller from livid is updating leds perfectly without the soundcrack

Do you have a video of this mapping? 110+ led outputs seems fucking insane!

Are you on Windows by any chance? Traktor has a hard time working with tons of dynamic LED output under that OS with regular MIDI mappings (not an issue with HID), we had a few people complaining about that with the Twister's STEMS mapping and it was only affecting Win users.

If you haven't already and your pages are Modifier based, make sure you add inverted "Send Monitor State" commands to the buttons you are using to switch pages.

Either way I really doubt it's your computer lacking but Windows having the audio processing with a quite lame priority.

This hint just solved an issue I was having with TouchOSC. Holy balls. Thank you.
