the new HP DV6 -DV8 series are awesome cheap laptops! they are fast.. good build.. many options.. personally i am going to get a dv7 (17inch screen) with the 720 i7, 8 gig of 1333ram 2x500g sata 7200rpm due to needing a big screen for engineering designs and on the road production

IMHO Aluminum Macbook Pros are unbeatable. The hardware its self is actually all high end (hitachi etc hd's) and the case is spot on perfect. Not to forget the super nice screens, long lasting battery, lit up keys.... And that replacement/protection plan... firewire... specs obviously depend on which one you buy...
The whole OSX vs MS debate is kind of pointless to me, owning a mb right now after 14 years of MS I still don't really care which to use.
The only downside of a Macbook Pro is the $. But then again, one of these things can outlast the competition and you can get like 4 years out of them.

For sure, I love my 15" Unibody, it really does ooze with quality. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for

would by my 15" all over again if I had the choice. Or maybe even a 13 inch? Smaller more portable? Either one is fine by me! 2.54ghz + 4gb ram = silky smooth traktor.
