I'm with Lance but it's normally a bump of coke (I'm classy like that)
What's with this 3 minute shit? most tracks are 7 minutes long man!
Normally I hit sync with 30secs out on the exiting track and crossfade over that 30secs.
Then I switch to deck C/D and turn the knobs and mash buttons so I look like I'm rocking it!
I only ever mix 2 tracks at a time so C/D never make a noise but I look really cool.

But seriously, pre-listening 95% of the time, reading the crowd the other 6%

I like to tease my DJ mates.....by copying their DJbox moves.

Some pump the fist.....some finger shoot.....some vibrate.....some stamp their feet.

HEHEHEHE....i do a pretty good impression of em all!

I totally need to start vibrating in the booth.

I don't even know what the means but I'm gonna do it.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

    He does the vibrate\shake things.

Next time....i think i might go down to the dancefloor and do the worm~!

Take a step back & watch your dancefloor for a minute or two.

Are they digging what you're playing?
What's the mix of people like? ....is it too "blokey", do you want to get more girls on the floor?
Do you need to change your gameplan & play something else?

I was given this advice years ago, & I still stick to it. It's too easy to get lost in your own little "will it mix perfectly / quick I need some more fx" world, without even noticing that your dancefloor's emptied!

Spot on, exactly what I do, but grab beers and go toilet aswell
