Monitors you choose by what you like.

You need to listen to a bunch of them....testing with your fav sound. Psy it was then.

I did not however.....test like this.

So after a while of using them...and then going to mates studio's and using theirs....i decided I did not like them.

Right now I have a pair of Tannoy Mach 2's.

Not exactly Studio Monitors....but I like the sound....and I am not producing anymore.

Will again some day....but now....no time.

Man, I need more friends to check their studio
but they must live near to me

Thank you very much for bringing those articles back to my attention I know that the DJ/IO is kinda a lower end sound card and I wouldn't mind upgrading in the future to something better or would it just be better to get a decent mixer with XLR outputs as it is right now my soon to be completed DJ booth is going to be sitting right next to my AC in my living room so if it's gonna cause interference I'm going to have to play out with the AC off for now. I guess my question is is having a balanced signal that important for right now. I plan on picking up a Behringer DDM4000, which will allow me to do that just gonna have to wait a few months till I can save some more for it.

On a side note can you post your thoughts on the DDM4000 I've heard stories of peoples crapping out on them not sure after how long and on the flip side I've heard rave reviews of the best bang for buck. There isn't too many stores around here I can go and play around with one so I'd really like to know the low down dirty on it. I don't play out and I have a smoke free apartment/studio and I try not to beat on my equipment. Sorry this is going forever but yeah thanks again everyone for all the great advice I can't wait to get all this equipment in and setup in my new booth.
    Cheers.

    P.S.

Also V-Hoff I just picked that book up a few weeks back and was a quick read but informative if out dated a little but hey there are things from last year that are out dated :P If you like that book read (if you have't already) Last Night a DJ Saved My Life. Written by the same guys and is one of the best history's of dance music and djing I have ever read (The other being Love Saves the Day by Tim Lawrence also a good read a little redundant in some areas but another point of view on those same topics)

After hearing Orbital play for the first time and hearing Halcyon I knew I always wanted to make people dance. It's funny how with the things in Life that really matters to us you can look back and pinpoint the exact moment when you it all happened for you, but I can't remember what I did last week or what song I played 20 minuetes ago. Again I drone on. Cheers

I use them for both (6's). Mostly for DJ monitors though as Im usually too lazy to produce. They work very well for what i need... I live in an apartment and have them set up in a small room and they are loud as hell. I don't use them for house parties though as I dont want to risk blasting them for extended periods of time.
