granted - a kickass dream, even if I was a girl in it

I usually faint from carrying it all and the gig gets cancelled

just kidding, it's really simple, but it's a crapload of stuff - takes around 30 minutes to set up and do a soundcheck (half that time if I'm in a hurry, but I don't like rushing things). the dj setup is pretty straightforward, couple of turntables, nanopad + lpd8 for hotcues and effects, the evo5 for browsing and other non-effect-related stuff.

I'm thinking of replacing one deck with a couple of MIDIfighters in the future, which would leave me one deck for scratching - I've been spinning for a while now so beatmatching is nothing more than a waste of time... but my eyebrow still twitches a bit when I move the cursor over the sync button. bit oldschool about that, I'm sure it will vanish over time.

the live setup is a bit more complicated (and does some magic which I'll hopefully manage to show at the tresor party, provided I have the time with the university exams going on). the fireface talks and listens to everything in terms of MIDI and audio, maschine and the virus are slaved to ableton live. besides that I only use an apc80. I don't use the MINIAK live yet, it's a beast but I haven't completely familiarized myself with it and don't want to make any mistakes. same goes for the RCA-modded game boy (the small thing with the red screen sitting left of the monitor), I've only used it live a couple of times but I need to build a MIDI sync box for it. getting its patterns in sync with the rest is a pain and too much of a risk when playing live.

I'm currently struggling with the effect units, because the evo5 doesn't have an external fx loop I have to use them on the master channel (which is no problem if you know your gear, but it's bit of a risk to put them in the master chain - if they fail on you, game over). maybe I'll integrate them into ableton live (tried that successfully with the kp3 already), I've also been thinking about getting rid of them but I can't bring myself to do it yet. especially the kp2 has accompanied me for quite some time now...

I'm actually a bit embarrassed looking at it all together, I've seen people with much smaller setups do much more crazy shit than I'm capable of. but I'm a gear whore. aren't we all?

nope, sorry mate, it's much more lame than that. it's just a bunch of cheap IKEA tables that happened to fit in the room perfectly (same as the living room setup). I don't have too much time for DIY stuff (except the apc80, I had to make time for that) and like I said, the setup goes with me every time I play out, so a fancy desk wouldn't make much sense. I also don't have proper monitor speakers and no insulation in there yet, so it's not as epic as I'm planning to make it over time. hopefully I'll manage to do it all before it becomes a kids' room

this is my "music room", it's not enough to be called a studio yet. the kaossilator pro has been replaced with a theremin plus and the apc40 is now an apc80... it's not too tidy now so I can't take a proper picture, but I'll update it as soon as I can.

this is our living-room setup (my g/f spins, too - the technics setup belongs to her). the speakers have moved since then, they are now in front of the setup. instead of an NS7 I now have a pair of V7s, one of the nanopads went to my g/f and has been replaced with an lpd8:
