If you like it, buy it (specially if you are going to spin them for money). If you can't then get a job to afford it, the same way you would do to buy gear.
    ^ this.

I'm all for pirating certain things, such as movies - but that's mostly because the vast majority of movies are fucken rubbish, have no artistic merit, and have no low cost option to encourage rubbish purchases (i'm looking at you, beatport specials) which presents three problems

    a) I need to be really stoned to watch crap movies
    b) I don't like being in public when I'm stoned
    c) I wouldn't pay to go see these movies anyway, stoned or otherwise

So obviously, stealing something I would never have bought in the first place, and which aren't worth the asking price to begin with, somehow balances my moral conscience quite nicely.

I wholeheartedly support artists who contribute amazing art. Some do well, some don't, but their contribution in my opinion, is worth the asking price from digital download places.

Oh and by the way - you don't need a credit card to buy off Beatport, they accept Paypal payments which can be linked to your bank account!

It's inevitable really. Personally, I feel like music is becoming the "loss leader" for musicians, like the dollar menus. Restaurants actually LOOSE money selling you those items, but still win because people always buy full meals... just like people are still going to see Deadmau5 live and he's making a killing. It definitely separates the little guy from the major label artists, but so is the way of life.

I try to buy as much as possible, but I've found some mixes on YouTube that are rare/odd/old/etc and aren't available to purchase. For those I use listentoyoutube.com

Just find the best version of the song you can and download in HQ. Often times you can get 192kbps and up.

I'm not condoning piracy by any means, quality is going to lack, and you get what you pay for

Don't say every track too fast, for example, some part of the Andean Music only exists in video clip form, and is only played in video juke box in the bars in Peru or on Youtube. If you wanna play this music, you can't do anything except ripping youtube...

you can always ask the artist, you'd be amazed by the amount of people that will share their music if you ask kindly.
