yeah but no one pays attention, I know on a forum to get vocal drops ou have to make 30 posts before you can go post in other sections and it lets you do like 1 a day, something like this should be in place, itll stop banned members changing there ip address and making a new account since you still have to be somewhat civil and will stop stupid multi posts on help me do everything im a beginner

People think about being a DJ too much.

Do your thing. Whatever gear you have, music you like.... if you do your thing and people like you for doing your thing and enjoy it, what's wrong? You're more of a DJ than the one that puts 1000's of dollars in gear and has been practicing day in day out but they are so influenced by their environment that theyre just not doing their own thing so they'll never stand out.

that's actually not a bad idea.

i don't even remember how i found DJTT but it wasn't because i wanted to be a DJ, i already was one and had been for 3 years. now EVERYBODY wants to be a DJ. this forum accepts everyone so it's hard to weed out the riff raff.

in fact, I have been working with a few kids who have asked for lessons. teaching them how to set up gear, how to find good gear, the difference in audio connections, how to use CDJs, TTs, and mixers. how software works. how to beatmatch... these kids want to learn yet not one of them has ever been to a DJ forum online. and they think my music sucks! they know better than to ask me haha

It's all part of the learning curve in my opinion. The first time I played in a club (tech house event) I had the role of warming up, something I'd never done before. I kept a pretty much consistent beat through out. Then I dropped a bomb as the last track before the next person came on.

Afterwards one of my mates spoke to me and said, that it was a good set, except for the last song. So since then when doing a warm up set I keep it slow and steady with no bangers.

Seeing "Slacker" perform live with a 3 channel Numark when the local voltage blew his Mackie right before soundcheck was one of the most Awesome live gigs I have been at ...

Everything was routed though the 3 channels and he just switched between them the entire gig, guitar routed though one .. mic to another, drum machines samplers etc into the various inputs (2 or 3 per channel)

    Its never the tools

BTW: I think it was a DM2000 at the time, there was a festival in town and it was the only mixer available that had enough inputs on (very) short notice.
