The New Pioneer DJM-250, what do you think?

$400 is still a little high when your in the entry level market. I mean $150 more on a high priced mixer is nothing but when you can find xone 22's for around $250 on a good day its kind of a big chunk.

What else will compete with this? Im in the market for a cheap mixer to start learning tables.

I think Pioneer is in an interesting bind. I think this mixer is excellent, but the price point forces it to compete with S2 that has mixer + SW + controller + jog wheels..... Ouch. It would not be fun working in the Pioneer DJ marketing group today.

I think its a great little mixer, has xlr inputs, filters.........I think they made it to compete with the smaller mixers out there, Pioneer msrp puts it at $400, everyone else will sell it I bet between $200-300.

I often wish I'd sold a kidney to pay for a xone 92 instead of a 42 just to get two filters to play with.
Also, being a trainspotter at the club I've seen a LOT of dual filter use on '92s. Most of the time, it seems like there's one always on for some tunes, just pumping up the low end, which you can't do with a one-knob-does-all solution like on the Pioneers.

The djm800 and 900 have filter for each channel plus other colour options to boot. Plus the fx section

Even though the prices are comparable the equipment isn't. If you have/want turntables then the S2 is useless to you. If you just want to mix midi then the 250 is useless to you.

in more seriousness. I think this looks alot better than the 400 and the 350! Finally pio have done something decent in the smaller mixer side. They could have implemented one or two other features though which would have been nice.
