F**K, now I want a DB4, I only played with it for a min at the DJ Expo in August, because I knew I wasn't buying it and I since I needed a new controller I ended up buying a Xone DX....So now I have A DDM 4000 with a Xone DX and I use the crossfader and sample section of the DDM to control midi functions in Traktor but I could adjust that for a DB4 and those effects....ITS THE EFFECTS DAMN IT...I WANT THEM!!!

Yeah. It's fun talking to guys who've had a lot of experience in theatre/venue tech. They actually know the failure rates of stuff like QSC and Crowne amplifiers and specific brands of mixers, mics or cables because they've gotten to them by personal observation.

That's also why people have such strange views of Behringer DJ mixers. Electronically, they're not that bad…they just have noisy preamps and are built for very little cost. If it doesn't die in the first week, you're probably good for a year or two. And, seriously, who's going to buy 5 Behringer DJ mixers and do a burn-in test just so they can pick the one that doesn't die?

One of the guys I disagree with very often but very much respect (nem0nic) used one when I met him IRL because he needed something right then and didn't want to think. His lasted for a while until he got around to buying something better. Mine had 2 dead channels in the first week. And apart from the effects sucking and it feeling like it was built out of second-hand recycled components by squirrels with parkinson's disease…it really wasn't a bad mixing experience until it just quit working. I probably would have just bought another one and hoped if I hadn't discovered Vestax's cheap line.

Also, welcome to my half-drunk on a wednesday night posting on forums because I don't feel like sleeping even though I have to get up for work in <4 hours.

I really need to get a job in music so I can stop hating life.

    Sorry…emo. I'll stop.

Sweet they received mine today and are shipping out a replacement in a moment, this time I made sure they are sending it to my work and not my apartment so I don't have to run around going crazy trying to find it at the UPS location 40 minutes away.

Hey, did they say what caused the problem?

Mine came in to the shop on Tueday, and I won't be able to try it out until Saturday. Sadly, tomorrow is a holiday and they're not open.

I'm wondering if I should test it out in the shop before I taking it home. I know I'll be checking for fuzz, and the cue gain... but what else should I try testing for?

I seriously thought about having some made.

If I ever go back to DVS, I'll probably have it done.
