    Lol!

    This is dumb.

Let the man be in th music and with the flow of things.

Why does Qbert makes his mouth all wierd when he scratches? Same reason guitarists do when using the Wah Pedal.

When DJ's do it (and I mean the real deal) its to keep them in the rythme and groove.

The poser DJ's do it cuz they think its cool.

I used to know all the local producers moves...and tease em about it.

    Everyone has their move!

Whether is the karate chop on the beats....the shake....the finger guns....we all do it!

I agree, what do you want - a dj to stand there like a robot and have no passion and life and connection with the music?!?!?!

When you know exactly what you're doing, and you're comfortable with the equipment, then it looks natural, and you can do it to your hearts content.

BUT - some people do it to try and convince us that they ARE comfortable with their equipment, when really, they are not. It's not convincing, and the nerves show through. A shaking hand is a dead give away.

Stoopid little tweaks of knobs faders also get my goat. Sometimes, the fader/knob is not even moved - just held for split second. Stoopid.

My MASSIVE hate is when people do that stoopid left to right shuffle with their feet, and try to disguise it as dancing...

That makes me shit my pants with laughter every time...

If you are not comfortable in from of a camera or in front of people, don't try to disguise it. Just practice/get more experience playing out!

You'll regret picking up those stoopid little habits when you have got the experience and confidence to play out - but you're still flicking that fader like a noob.

    HEHEHEHEHEH

Knob riding.....yeah....you need to do that if you got 4 decks going etc. But yeah, I have seen the guys with their hands stuck to the knobs.

The etymology of that is pretty obvious, too much egg can spoil what you're cooking.
