@ dope - why are you accusing racoon of being some kind of fanboy? he's just questioning where you got your facts from.

it turns out he was right to do so. you have no actual experience of any of the things you mention and are just repeating things you read 'on the internet'. there's a big difference.

I have a grey Allen and heath mixer. it pisses all over my mates pioneer mixer.
It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

So what ? Because the opinion on it doesn't comes from my mouth, does it makes it less valuable ?

You are just pissed that someone dared saying some bad things about A&H.

I'm done with you, keep going fanboys you make me laugh.

it's just a bit misleading though isn't it?
would you class someone's opinion about a football match who'd actually been to the game as being more valuable than someone who'd only read someone else's match report on the internet? i would.

i'm not pissed with anything dope, far from it. you do know that someone who expresses an opinion that may differ to yours does not make them a fanboy? all that has happened is that your opinion has turned out to be someone else's.

for the record, i chose the pioneer djm800 over the A&H xone 92 as it suited my requirements best at the time and never regretted it. i've used the A&H many times and thought it was a really good mixer with great filters and lovely eq's.

True, but it's not what it's about here.

I'm repeating the opinion of a guy that "has been to the match". So the opinion here is not mine. It's a 92 user's opinion, therefore it is valuable.

Since i doubt the guy will ever come on DJTT and post here, i'm repeating to add another point of view to the conversation.

I always feel like buying a used one (as it IS so old) would be a bad idea. Who knows how hard the seller mashed the crossfader, or who knows if they yanked knobs off because they were in the moment and going too hard (if you've seen some dubstep DJs, you know what I mean). That's the only reason I would feel used gear could be bad.

However, if you're all saying I should try and find a grey A&H because its probably from the UK vs. going for a new black one because its manufactured in China (like most things these days), then maybe I should be reconsidering? I'm definitely getting a 92, you all + what I've researched have sold me on it. So now the question is- used one maybe from the UK or new one almost assuredly from China? Does it even matter?

On the other hand, DJM series (except the 2k) can last 10 years easy.
I have a first generation 92....made in England. However, I have used the new 92 many times and yes it isnt as good....but it is STILL better than any Pioneer.

Saying a DJM mixer will last 10 years is a JOKE. Give it 3 years of heavy use in a club - and it will have missing knobs. worn out faders, and static in many of the channels and lines.

The only reason Pioneers are found in so many clubs is the effects unit...which sounds like crap too. But we all know how stupid most DJs are and how they have no clue about sound quality, headroom etc.

so is the rumor true that the silver made in U.K version is better in both quality and sound?

Mate, this is just A&H fanboy nonsense.

The djm800 and 900 are digital. There is no loss of quality in the sound. How can that mean lousy sound?

The fader caps use a p lock system so they don't come off now. Plus with the 900 the faders aren't even over the components.

If you'd take an aging 92 over a djm900 then you are a clueless fanboy not even able to see the facts.

    Jus sayin

Agreed. The db4 looks off the scale! All im saying is people on here claiming all djm mixers (including the 900) are junk are deluded fanboys.

There were a lot of issues with the djm 600, that gave the djm series a bad rep, which have been resolved.
