It's helped me survive 115-degree desert heat, but it's bulky.

Wow... You really packing the complete package. Sweet!
I would probably only do laptop/soundcard/controller/headset and belonging cables.

I'm kinda overly cautious. For some reason I rarely end up with your basic club gig where everything's a known quantity. I end up out of town at a place that hasn't been able to answer any of my questions about the setup, or on a tower in the northern Nevada desert, or something. I've been to way too many gigs where I needed unexpected cable connections to a mixer, DI box, or PA; or there was only one available outlet; or it was so unbelievably hot that my laptop was definitely going to get wonky; or there was no room except vertically.

I didn't even mention the slide-on keyboard protector and rescue CDs.

I ordered that rolling Gator backpack case; if anyone's interested I'll give a mini review of it after I get it. For this year's Burning Man I'm going to have the case inside a bicycle trailer meant to haul kids that will be attached to my playa bike. Crazy, but nothing makes me more protective than crossing 5 miles of raw unlighted Nevada desert at 10 PM surrounded by 50,000 hallucinating techno hippies on bikes who would just say "whoah" after T-boning you and $4,000 worth of gear.

    .
Yup this is a lesson i learnt from playing in bands and doing gigs at crap gigs on the "Toilet Circuit" around UK. Take everything you may need apart from the p.a.

Luckily im only doing known venues at the moment so i can leave a lot of stuff at home.

I wanna do gigs in the Nevada Desert though , that sounds awesome

I used to have my own PA with me all the time.

    Having a wagon owns all.

Yeah our van was full to the roof with just the backline and of course 5 stupid musicians who actually came to blows arguing over the front seat.

    Bands are stupid.
