Isn't that the way Ableton works? Each Remix Deck offers four different Slots (columns), ideal for arranging sounds and loops by instrument groups e.g. different drum, bass, percussion loops. Play one sound per column - a total of four samples at any one time.
Okay that does make sense haha. When I thought you could play all 16 loops at once I was wondering how they hell did they code that.
Someone please invent a sweet stand for all this gear.
It's kind of possible to set up that sort of thing now but you have to know the BPMs of the various parts and set grid markers to mark the changes. It would be really nice to have a drifting grid ie. marker 1 > marker 2 sees a gradual master tempo reduction from 175 - 140BPM (using the earlier example given) instead of the determination of the average BPM which seems would just create bad and useless grids. I use the current gridding function then modify and tighten as needed, but this new system sounds like it would make the feature less useful and essentially break it's main purpose... Starting to give me reasons not to upgrade to Traktor 2 lol, though I do kinda want that tape delay effect, really like the more subtle effects like reverbs, delays and filters.

I sold the mixer with plans to get a DB4, but when I had all the money together I just couldn't make myself spend that much on a mixer. What I really want is just an older bare bones mixer. I'll still use some combination of X1, F1 and maybe K2. Right now I'm using the knobs on an APC40 mapped to the mixer and an X1 until I find the perfect mixer for cheap.
I found this on the NI site.

Hehe...yeah. We're just beginning.
When I had the S4 I found it necessary to have an X1 to really utilize the sample decks freely. That would be compounded even more wit the remix decks,
