How is that different from other artists at any other point in dance music's history?
Quitter.
So, I don't spin hip hop very much because I don't enjoy it. But I listen to it…a good bit. Mainstream and underground.
There always have been and always will be really shitty artists in any genre. The reason you're glorifying that point in hip hop's history is because no one remembers the shitty artists…not because they didn't exist.
And it's not all the mainstream's fault. You don't get more mainstream than Yeezy. Go listen to Kanye's last two albums for good examples of mainstream hip hop that actually says something.
People need to stop blaming "mainstream" shit for everything wrong in the world. You're all wrong. There wouldn't be an underground/counterculture without a mainstream culture that it was avoiding.
