Sneak is an old school guy who stands firm in the school of thought that real house music is just that, and a lot of the other shit is a fad, wack, and will pass. I can't say I agree 100% on what he says (though I'm REAL close to 100%), but I respect him. He has his view, and doesn't kiss the asses of the elite artists of the moment.

Maybe there's a misunderstanding on my part or your part, but the above makes me think you are missing the point. I don't think that commercial success is an issue. Also, putting the beatles in that category is way off base. Their "mop tops" weren't a gimmick. That was a haircut. Also, they happened to have put out some of the most timeless music in the past 50 years.

Couldn't have said it better. RItM goes beyond the gimmick and delivers a production... a show within the show.

Yep, does he care? His house is paid for.
Yeah, those fake-ass DJs, playing prerecorded tracks THEY DIDN'T EVEN PRODUCE!

Sneak's just got a different gimmick than those other guys. He's gaining popularity and cashing in on his street cred by talking shit about those less talented and more famous than him. How many new twitter followers did he just gain from this thread alone?

and he is entitled to his opinion even though my stance towards that is that people should listen to what they want and if i don't like it i just don't give a fuck. they do their thing and i do mine. but picking fights with other DJs that don't spin "real house" just seems kinda childish to me.

That's not what he's really getting at though. The thing he's upset about is that they are parading around as "House DJs" when that couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth. Because when they call what they do "house music" then that's the sound that people are going to associate with it.

So now when he tells people he's a House DJ, people are going to say "Oh! Like Steven Angello and the SHM guys?". And that's when you see him go,
