Basically the way I see it is if you make money from music be it Djing or Producing then you really should buy the software simple as that if you are making a living using it then there is no excuse IMO. ( unless you live in parts of eastern europe jk. )

Even if you just want to try out abit of software you can go to a dj store and have a go TBH an hour or so mixing is good enough to see if you like the software.

If you dont make any money from music and just mix or make beats at home then IMO its different completely I see no wrong in that at all. In fact I think having cracked software like Ableton , Reason , Traktor freely available has helped alot of kids get into making music ( just look at all the young producers on the grime / bassline scene) where back when I was 16 ( years ago now 31 getting very old indeed lol ) a basic drum machine cost shit loads I had to go without I could be famous now
there were cracked bits of kit but back then cracked ment broken

My EX girls little brother has been making beats on a cracked version of Cubase he knows his plugins and puts me to shame with his knowledge he is only 16 and could walk into a proper studio and mix down a track no problem a thing that I was dreaming of at his age.

people can take the moral high ground but I bet if a m8 gave them a load of mp3s of the latest tracks they would accept them even if they knew they were from p2p and if they went round a m8s and they pulled out a pirate copy of a film they would sit down and watch it and not storm off lol

the wonders of the digital age

Which was after I had been using pro for a while. Once school is finished I plan to buy the license from online for about 200 something.
    huh?

If you had T3 and TS you should have been entitled to a FREE update to TSP.
If you bought TS within certain dates you were entitled to a FREE Grace Period Upgrade to TSP.

You technically bought TS when you bought TS .

Techincally and Actually here are the same thing.

Also you cannot just 'buy a license online' no way , no how.

It has been a long time since I had it, but I started with a cracked version of Traktor 3 on my first MacBook. It was not too long until I started to buy in all of the kit. I agree that there was not enough room in the demo's. Now look at where I have come! I started as 100% analogue with a slight incling that a Korg Kaoss pad would be a bold and exiting thing. Now look at the setup I have an all of it is kosher and 100% digital, (apart from the Technics)!
Hot software is not a good thing but it helped me make the decision to jump!

Even though i am 100% against Cracked Software i aint stupid. If your 15 your hardly likely to stump up £500 for a DVS or £200 for DJ software if your just fannying around in your bedroom. I know that and the software companies know that.
However if you work and you earn money (however much or little) you should buy the software. Whatever job you have you would hate it if people managed to get the product of your labour for free when you have put all your effort into it. Doesnt matter if your a Lawyer or flipping Burgers.

I also think that this "i dont earn money from DJing" excuse is shit as well.
I dont earn money from XBox but i didnt fucking steal it.
I love driving my Mini but i dont get paid to race and i had to buy the car i didnt steal it.

People talk as if its a persons "right" to own all this software. If you creative you will find a way of earning money to afford the software.
If you cant afford it its not anyone elses fault. This is NOT a claim that only the affluent should have access to the technology. But stealing is stealing. Software should be cheaper for sure but the software you own should grow with your ability to buy it.

If you arent prepared to walk into a music store and stuff a soundcard up your coat and walk out you shouldnt be prepared to steal software just cus its a bunch of bits that arent physical .

    LOL

Would you watch someone use a pirated copy of Traktor? Hahaha that's more of the comparison according to you.

I wouldn't download a pirated movie. The quality sucks.
