So what are your goals? If club DJ:ing, knowing Pio gear is important. If creating a new kind of DJ experience, you need to look into Maschine, F1 and various controller/DJ configs around Traktor or Ableton? Something else? Like learning vinyl DJ:ing so you know that side, too? Build you own custom controllers to make it really unique? Learn to produce so you could make your own remixes to separate you from the Beatport top-40 DJs?

imo, those things mentioned are always improvable...and way more important than what gear is used.

wow you gave up your s2 thats probably the most professional 2 channel controller you can buy. The thing you should've done is buy a Kontrol F1 and Kontrol x1 and use them with your s2

lol. someone else told me the same but to me it didn't feel authentic. I have played with it for a while before i bought my own just ready to challenge myself with new equipment to stay on my toes. if that makes sense.
Makes no sense whatsoever unless your goal is to be a jack of all trades master of none or intend going into face to face DJ sales/demo's. The s2 hasn't even been around that long so (and no offense intended btw) doubt you could call yourself ready for a new challenge just yet.

But if by chance you really are a DJ prodigy of some sort and genuinely feel you have mastered the S2, like the others have said above, get a few CDJ's and mixer, and go back to basics. Get rid of the safety nets you are used to with software like sync, transpose, and it'll certainly keep you on your toes for years to come.

Either that or get moving onto performing live with Ableton or integrating Ableton / Serato Bridge or even just add a few F1's to complement your S2 Traktor setup.

    - Its never the controller thats the limiting factor only the imagination, look at what Girl-Talk does with only his mouse and freeware DAW (theres a video somewhere around here about how he plays live but I can't find it).

very true! I was thinking of also getting a maschine to broaden up my ideas instead and also "attempt" making beats.

In my opinion, you need to retire since you already mastered DJing.
