Who hates their PC or MAC

I actually just switched from a 15' Sony Vaio (05') PC to a 2012 15' Macbook Pro! So far I have to say my PC did in fact crash a few times! Nothing is worse to have your PC take a shit during a LIVE performance. So I sucked it up and continued using it until my screen started to act up! I saved up all my earnings and went and bought a Macbook Pro. and man oh man has it been amazing! But every new "toy" is amazing at first but I've had this Mac for little over a month and I fucking love it! I highly recommend either a high end PC or a Macbook Pro!

Doesn't matter if you run OSX, Windows or any form of Unix. Get those extra bucks ready for a SSD and you won't be dissapointed.
My 2009 13" MBP runs godly with the 256GB Samsung 830 SSD and my 5 year old budget PC still plays along nicely with a Vertex 2.

And there were equal if not greater numbers of people who trotted out the old 'drivers, updates, tweaking, blah, blah, blah' and I'll be screwed if I won't challenge obvious bollocks like that.

same... i use a custom build of mint for day to day and win 7 for audio production and DJing

But I'm only using ubuntu for casual browsing and work.

Both my comps run windows and the one at my buddy's studio is an iMac. IMHO both systems run smoothly. I've never had a crash in the 4 years of service that my laptop has given me although I did restore it to factory settings this last spring (which gave it a very noticeable boost in performance). I will say that I PERSONALLY prefer windows but that's mostly because I know it better. It will always come down to what you prefer. Ask yourself:
*What software/applications do I want to use?
*Will they run on both systems?
*How much do i want to spend?
*Am I willing to spend some time learning a new OS?

With that all being said here are some of my opinions (that you can totally ignore)
*When comparing laptops with the same specs Mac's usually are slightly more expensive
*Windows can be just as reliable as long as you take care of your laptop and don't download shadey stuff
*Mac's have a considerably better build quality than most PC's
*There are more traps out there for PC users than mac
*The general public consider apple products to be gifts from the gods and you can score you extra points if you are caught with one in public (if you're into that)
*Windows laptops of the same price range almost always have better graphics than macs (funny how people consider macs the industry standard for photo and video editing huh)

So anyways chew on that for a while but honestly any which way you look at it YOU are the one that should decide this. Take peace in the fact that both systems can give you the same performance no matter what anyone says as long as you know what you're doing. Good luck and hope this helped

Why delete your accounts? Why not just stay off the site. As for your comment regarding 'pretend DJ's'. Please explain yourself more.. If it is targeted at me at all, I have been DJ'n 15 years and out in clubs for 8 holding solid residencies from a VINYL background so nothing pretend about me!

These days, sorry Jaques, have been around since quite the beginning. You probably have something that's acting up these days.

Please read the entire thread, you'll see why he was granted a cool down period. Let's get things straight, it was not a permanent ban.

Fact is the mentality on this community has been getting harsher and harsher, and if mods step in, they get blamed for pollution, world wars, world peace tree hugging etc.
We try to keep the forums at a certain level, where people still like to hang out and trade out information.

Discussions like 'Mac vs PC' and 'Ableton vs whatever DAW' are heckled by us, as that this always seems to end the thread, there's always someone fired up so emotionally that they at some point can't see / judge objectively any longer.
This is what the cooling down period is intended for.

If users can't abide, tells them more about them then about us.
