I think the main reason they're doing it in the US, and more specifically at campuses was already stated, but seems it has to be repeated.
"According to the tour's press release, CNTRL will be focused on "engaging young North American fans of EDM and showing them the roots of the music, the history of a global movement and demonstrating what the future of music technology and performance has the power to become."
More than anything I think they are trying to show all the bro's and coed's that there's more to electronic music than Skrillex and Deadmau5, and trying to show where it's come from, where it's been and hopefully where it's going in the future as well.
