Touch osc will turn your ipad into a midi controller, like the x1, so you'd plug it in and use it to control the software. Traktor dj is it's own dj software, and won't work with the Traktor running on your laptop (I really think you need to get the idea of running traktor dj on ipad alongside Traktor on your laptop out of your head, at least for now.)

If you're not using another controller/mixer with a built in soundcard, you'll need the Audio 2.

I was in Best Buy for 4 hours straight playing on the Ns6 the other week. I play with my launchpad quite a bit

Never stayed inside a store more then 2 hours

If all you want to do is run the X1, then just buy an NI Audio 2 and go have some fun.

To be perfectly honest (and not trying to confuse you more) I think your best bet is to get something like a mixtrack pro, or an NI S2 or S4 and learn the basics. All you have to do is plug in and go. Learn to mix on basic gear, and once you've mastered that, figure out where to go from there.

buy an Ni Audio 2 for Audio interface correct?
    NO!

You really need to learn about the things your wanting to get... Also i have a ipad with traktor dj, i dnt really use it apart from track preperation and wen i am on the train etc....

you need to learn how to dj before you go get all of these things to wow your mates!

youve just said that you think a VCI-400 is to 'pricey' for you, especially if you decide to not use it 'in a year or two', but you want to buy a ipad for a app which in my opinion dosent do much compared to the full version of traktor????

Get a controller and learn how to dj, see if u even like it.

cos at the moment it seems like u have no idea.... Also just a x1 by itself is going to be tricky.... the out of the box mappins dnt have EQ, or Fader instructions....

I'd really suggest sticking with Native Instruments or one of the popular companies for a sound card....

Why are you so against the NI Audio cards?

An NI Audio 2 is only 100 dollars new... like 60-70 dollars used...

Is there a reason why you want 2 in or it just because you want it.
