Default What is important for DJ speakers?

So I'm trawling the interwebs for information on DJing speakers and I feel like I'm going around in a loop.

What are the important things to look for in DJ speakers? Is it the same as with production monitors where they need to be as flat as possible?

I'm potentially going to be doing an internet radio show so I want to ensure I have as good a kit as I can afford.

I go for a good balance between Clarity and Thump. Make sure the speakers don't take away from the sound of your music. But, instead enhance it. JBL, QSC, and Meyers sound awesome!

You need to find speakers and amp that sound good to you.

    That is all.

Decent hi-fi speakers and a suitable amp are better than fine.

For anything where you will be recording your voice, you will want closed ear cup headphones not speakers.

Nothing wrong with using studio monitors to DJ on at home.

So I won't need speakers at all?

Luckily I have some new HD25s...

if you are doing an internet radio show, it doesn't really matter what the speakers sound like unless of course you are facing the speakers out the window for the neighborhood to hear your show....

I always like to hear the mix on the main speakers because I find they it sounds a little different in the headphones.
