Yeah, I got that the first time, its "unlocked"...to GSM, almost an oxymoron in itself. That's like being told that you're free to roam around anywhere inside your jail cell lol. I get a fantastic choice between AT&T, or T-Mobile, or whatever off-shoot carrier pending on location. A contiguous United States CDMA option (and others would agree, I assure) would have been preferable to offer to consumers who don't want to be limited to WiFi, but I can honestly say I wasn't expecting much in that department considering contractual obligations AT&T and Apple have with one another.

I personally have had enough issues in the past (as with everyone else I know) with iPhone connectivity and dumped Cingular/AT&T (whatever they are calling themselves this week) and went to Verizon. Couldn't be happier, and the ongoing cellular holy war over at Engadget (source: Verizon's ads attacking AT&T coverage, pick any of their articles) shows a clear amount of disgruntled users who have made similar moves in service.

I'm not even going to bother talking about T-Mobile and their reliability or ability to recover from technical disasters. Their credibility as a carrier is about as easy to knock over as a house made from a deck of cards lol.
