exactly - and this is a lesson you don't learn in the bedroom. I feel like most of the hate is an immature way to cope with frustration due to lack of bookings. if these guys focused on self-promo and networking instead of bashing, they probably wouldn't have a reason to get worked up in the first place.

I went to bed with the right hump after reading most of that serato thread, Scratchworx, Ean and many others made some great points and it still fell on deaf (ignorant) ears. I wonder if these idiots feel same about mpc routines, there ain't a great difference with the end product. The truth is if any of the haters really new what they was talking about or actually gave controllerism a go they would soon see it isn't as easy as it looks.

    Whats wrong with controllerism

Which sadly is really the main problem with controllerism, it does look a lot easier than it actually is. I've been in to turntablism for years, seen all the DMC finals, most of UK one's live and I think there is a huge gap between the physical technical visual wow, The first thing that hits you is the physical skill when you watch an epic battle set, pushing buttons simply doesn't stand a chance when compared on a visual level. This is the point where most of the haters are coming from, they decide to ignore that all other aspects of a battle set are within Eans midi fighter routine. Not to mention midi programing side, a serious skill in it self

    Whats wrong with turntablist

It amazes me how soooooo many turntablist are scared of technology, how every DVS based controller gets sold with the mantra " no more reaching for your computer "! At the DMC a few years back, they allowed DVS for the first time in to the team battle's, I couldn't believe that every dj there was bashing there computer keyboards for cue points. At last years " community scratch tour " in the uk, I watched a great turntable musician awkwardly reach for his keyboard while scratching, I felt like running to the shop to buy him a nano pad to sit in front of his decks.
I got my Dicer's the other day and I effin love having controls closer to the platter (thankyou Ean, your a legend), but the real genius of the Dicer is how they've been marketed to Serato user's to maximize there sales, the Dicer would of gone unoticed by many of the more ignorant serato user's if it wasn't aimed squarely at them.

What is the beef with sync

I just don't get why people get so insulted by dj's using sync feature's, tho I still find beatmatching rewarding, having to monitor a beat can really put a wall in between creative loop and fx use, sync is tool with imperfections any way. Any routines I put together on real vinyl were well rehearsed and all the pitch fader position's are memorized, now i hit the sync button so I don't have to bother finding the tempo, but it still wonders and you still have to keep on top of it. I used sync to aid me in the mix posted below, to honest, with the nature of the mix, not having to memorize all the pitch fader positions meant I can concentrate on real crowd pleasing skills rather than fucking beat matching!

    Respect where respect is due

I said it before and I'll say it again, Ean you are a legend and one way or another your are already in the dj history books, as a scratch dj I've got nothing but resect for you and I look forward with bated breath to see what great creation, mapping, post or routine you come up with next,

It's just completely and utterly fantastic how people are willing to put energy into "dogging" people. That time could be spent on doing something creative instead, constructive criticism in all honor, but when it's just hating another artform it just get's silly and pathetic.

It's all music to me, and someone put energy and soul into what they did even if it's a complete rip of.
Just let it be, keep making your music, have fun, and keep it real.
