go with the S4. wtf are these people doing leading you the wrong way D:
sorry to disappoint you but NI's customer support isnt really too much better right now.

I would definitely say s4 over ns6 but the ns7 is a nifty piece of gear.

Maybe get an X5 and two v7's?
thats like saying your ford escort has more problems then your Merc. SLK.... Just saying.

The NS6 can be mapped to traktor, and ive got it from a good source that Numark will be releasing something for Traktor soon enough... maybe wait?

I've spent a good amount of time with each unit. As far as build quality... definitly the NS6 by a longshot, but its also a lot heavier.. I personally like Traktor over Itch when it comes to FX and creative capabilities. However, the stacked waveforms are unparalleled in itch, and makes quick visual mixing a breeze. That being said, the NS6 has a much better "feel" than the S4, in my opinion, but limits you to the basics of mixing, which has its pro's and con's depending on your personal style. With the S4 you can do anything from basic, essential EQ mixing to complex multi-layered effects. With the NS6 you will be able to do all of your baisc mixes, with some FX, and hacve access to very very responsive platters that feel great (if scratching is your thing I would get the NS6). The S4 however is lighter, which is important if you are taking it to a new club. My vote is the S4, cheaper, and you get traktor, which is way better than itch (except for the waveforms), especially if you want to get creative or use other controllers in the future in combination with your main kit.

They are both 4 channel mixers, with touch sensitive platters. S4 has more creative possibilities and FX, and the NS6 has more basic controls, with a better crossfader for scratch DJs.

Just my opinion from my own experience... hope that helps!
