    yeah agree with everyone.

Far as I know, its Monster who actually make them and have a deal with Dre to licence his name etc. And just like Monster cables they are all marketing and no substance, yeah they do the job but you can spend a fraction of the money and get something just as good and in most cases far better.

I actually think they're not only way overpriced, but fugly as hell too.

I don't like them personally as they are WAY too expensive but if you mix with booth monitors the extra bass in the headphones has no influence on your mixing. Like I said I don't like them but I've mixed with far worse!!

I've got solo hd's for out and about and hd's-1000's for dj'ing. Both cost around the same and both do their job excellently.

The main issue I had with them was that they felt incredibly bulky compared to my TMA-1's. The Beats are heavier, but much more snug around the ears than the TMA-1's are on the ears. The seal is pretty impressive. I, however, was not a fan of this, as I could easily imagine it becoming sweaty and gross inside the beats fairly quickly given a party environment. TMA-1's definitely win in terms of comfort and not-being-gross-when-it-gets-sweaty category.

The bass in the Beats is pretty booming, but is that necessarily a bad thing? I personally prefer to have more distinct mids (and so I prefer the TMA-1's).

However, the beats sounded... not that bad. I understand that they are super-overpriced (MSRP $400 for the pair that I won), but the quality seemed pretty decent.

So, why do haters hate so much on the beats?
I wear Beats Pro for shows across the World - and I play more/bigger shows than anyone on here - they've never let me down.

I use the Studios for the....ummm...studio...and on tour.

Personally after wearing every decent set of headphones going I rate Beats highly.

    David .... is that you

In fairness the Beat Pro's are IMHO just as good for DJ use as the HDJ2000's, just as durable, and both around the same $$. Although Neither sound particularly good to my ears in a quiet scenario or particularly comfortable - just my opinion.

Mixrs .. Look decent, along the same lines as 25's, nicely designed and would give them a go for Live stuff if someone sent me a free pair

The Studio's though .. Ahem... pieces of Shite - nuff said !

Solo's just stupidly overpriced and don't sound any better than a $20 pair of "Ross" headphones.

The real hate I think comes from the originally overpriced Tours and Studio's which came out first and are just horrible HORRIBLE headphones for the $.

Someone mentioned style over function - well to be fair D&G, Tommy, CK etc etc .. didn't get rich on function - and as far as DJ headphones don't need anymore than loud, undistorted, and reasonably durable in order to play a set - which they all do.
