I was going to a lot of shows and thought "hey I could do this..." I also thought it would be a nice ego boost, help me get popular, and help me get laid and it went along with some of the other lifestyle things I was doing.... It worked pretty damn well.

My motives have since changed. I'm sober and I have grown to love it purely for the music and the art.

This ...on a hifi with a rubbish turntable built on top and turning the dial between all three and sometimes using one cassette deck to record just between the turntable and other deck.....im pretty sure it sounded absolute wank , happy daze

Djing only atm but looking to get into production. Honestly, music is what keeps me happy. The rave scene, when i found it, helped me discover myself and feel much more comfortable with life, and music itself a lot of times directly affects my mood. I spend a good portion of my free time looking up new artists and songs on youtube naturally just to hear more music.

So I figured I'd put that natural jukebox tendency of mine into an artform. It's a mode of expression for me that I think fits my tastes perfectly.
My equipment: Numark Omnicontrol Midi Controller, Traktor Pro (lol pro setup right?)

It all started because I figured "if I get my own DJ setup, I don't have to buy mixes anymore because I can make my own to listen to, and as a bonus, I know I'll like every single song on the tape.

Music is everything to me...you'd be hard pressed to find a time when I'm not listening to something. I grew up with music around me and I've always loved all kinds of music but when I found EDM, I realized that since I love music so much, why not put my energy and 8 years of piano lessons to use.

I go into DJ'ing by hitting the big stage right off the bat!

I've been a musician ever since i was 12 years old. Played guitar and sang in my own band and later on solo. Started new job a few years ago and i was working with this guy who was a rapper with a certain notoriety in my province. Became really good friends with him and started hanging with his entire crew. Started going out on tour with them to sell merch (but mostly to go party out in small towns ) and then a few times their regular DJ wasn't available so i filled in. Didnt know a thing about DJ'ing so they made it super easy for me. Just start the song, and stop it when its done, repeat. When people started wanting to take pictures with me and were asking for autographs i got pretty excited and decided i wanted to DJ. hahaha

Here i am 3 years later with about 5k of equipment, i'm the regular touring DJ for my buddies (except now i scratch, cut, and mix for real), i've held a few short residencies and i still do lots of private and corporate events.

here are the buddies of mine:
