get your hand off it. If he was black, and made the same shitty tunes, he would be just as popular with the retarded EDM masses. I mean shit, the guy is almost opaque which kinda marginalises him just as much as a dark skin colour...

Spin, I hope you don't take this wrong and I hope I can actually help with what I say. I feel it is going to get to the true matter of why you brought this subject up.

The argumentation about any racial divide is rediculous. Sorry. White, Black, Red, Yellow or Green from Mars (ok, maybe Green from Mars is too much), skin color isn't the reason for acceptance or non-acceptance in the EDM scene (or any other cultural or ethnical scene). Music is a form of art that transcends skin color. The fact that your Deadmau5 example has some practical sense only comes about that EDM is enjoyed "ethnically" by more white folk than black (and only in some countries like the US). So there could be a suprize element in his unmasking. But who gives a willy? You obviously, because you are black. Instead of making this a topic for discussion to try and point out how unjust the situation is, which it absolutely isn't, you should be using the situation to actually fuel your own fire of desire to make it in the scene yourself. Being black in the scene makes you more unique and being unique is actually good. You should also look to other black people who are popular in the EDM scene and note they made it and try and do the same as they have done, if that is what your definition of success and your goal in life with music are.

So, save us please from this argumentation. It just doesn't play. Even better is, don't let yourself become a victim of your own perspective on a possible racial divide. It just isn't there, as you think it may be. And as long as you think "it" is there, you WILL be effected by "it"- "It" being your own thinking. In other words, if you continue to think like you do, you will certainly leave the door open to failure, because you can easily fall back to that nice excuse, "Damit, I can't make it in the EDM scene, because EDM is white dominated." What a load of crap that is. So stop that thinking that now and you'll truely do better in the future, I promise!

I think that the OP is either very young, very ignorant or very American. Possibly all three

@ Op you seem trapped in a racially conditioned mindset its a typical divide and conquer thing that has been pushed onto us by the media imho .

Keep doing what your doing musically do not watch others with their steriotypes because thats all it is

Now if Deadmau5 had pulled off his mouse head and Farakhan had been standing their then white people would be shocked if he was just a reg black dude it would have made NO difference.

im thinking he must mean like dogs dont play house music and birds dont play rap... since black and white and asian people etc are not in fact separated by a racial divider due to the fact that we are all part of the same "human" race?
