Anyway, a quick look at Pioneer's sales figures show they had a great time when this started until the end of 2012 when they bombed hard. Their stock is now hitting a point similar to the bad times of pre-2012. The issue with Pioneer is once you've got a piece of Pioneer gear it lasts for a long time. They saturated the market with their products (Clubs get them at cost price, moderately big names get them for free) and now no one needs to buy them because they already have them. They've managed to claw their way back up to a pretty good level, and they know now is a safe time to get out and get involved in FX pedals for the rock resurgence that's coming in a few years.
So you are suggesting that Pioneer has sold their products to everyone who is going to buy Pioneer and that's it, no one else is going to buy anything else so we might as well sell the company? Really? There will always be new customers to sell a product to. Not all current DJs use Pioneer gear. New DJs may buy something from Pioneer. They also make new products every year as technology changes, current Pioneer owners upgrade their gear. Its like saying Samsung should sell their TV division because everyone who has a Samsung TV already bought 1 and they last forever and no one else will ever buy a Samsung TV. We could say this about every product ever made. Pioneer is thinking about getting out to concentrate on their core business.

I don't know how many bars are in Tokyo, but in many places there are dozens of buildings up to 15 floors tall packed with almost nothing but bars. High fail rate so there is always a market for used gear and new gear. Just like there is a market for used grills and new grills in a restaurants. Anybody want to see a brilliant movie try "The Man in the White Suit"

the fact that they are the current industry "club" standard isn't the point of their business, increasing profits and market value is really the only thing that matters.

It's not like they've ever been in this because they love dj culture and all it entails..

It will just be interesting to see if this is true or not.

"Nozomu Matsumoto (松本望 Matsumoto Nozomu?, May 2, 1905– July 15, 1988) was a Japanese businessman and inventor who founded Pioneer Corporation. He was born in Kobe, Japan in 1905, the son of a Christian missionary. In 1936, he founded the Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho company in Osaka, whose name roughly translates to "Blessed Sound Electric Company" or "Gospel Electric Company", owing to Matsumoto's Christian faith and belief that his electronic products could help in missionary works. In 1937 he created the A-8 speaker which he christened 'Pioneer'. Matsumoto relocated to Tokyo in 1938 and started a small factory which repaired radios and speakers. After the war the company expanded rapidly." cause wiki does it better.

If you want to one could say house is our church. Too many psychics in this thread.

I imagine it's like somebody telling people at Harley that the don't even like bikes. Man, just freaking silly.
